Zach’s about to move on again

Donnie Walsh is having to spend the first few months of his tenure with the New York Knicks taking out Isiah Thomas’ garbage. Zach Randolph is the biggest pile of that and everyone’s saying that he’s about to be delivered to Memphis. Walsh knows Randolph’s contract is a cap-killer, that Randolph can’t play in new coach Mike D’Antoni’s uptempo system and that Randolph will soon have too much idle time on his hands because he has just about worked his way through all of Manhattan’s strip clubs.

For me, though, the good part of this whole thing for the Knicks is acquiring Darko. Count me among the dwindling number of those who still feel he can be a very productive player if he ever lands in the right system. Which means a coach who won’t force him to try to be something he isn’t, which is a low-post player.

As far as Zach is concerned, he can take that traveling circus of his just about anywhere, as long as he’s got the big contract and someone to throw him the ball in the post. If he gets his points, makes his money and has his entourage with him, what else does a guy need?

The more I read about Zach’s “hoops family” the more I dislike the guy and feel like he belongs on losing teams. What a loser.
