Zach Randolph spent the night in the graybar hotel

It’s 2:25 a.m., a Rolls Royce is weaving all over the freeway. Mike Dunleavy, do you know where your power forward is?

He’s in jail now, with no bail.

Nothing as inconspicuous as a weaving Rolls Royce. You’d think he might be smart enough or rich enough to have a member of his posse as a designated driver…….oh ya, it’s Zack Randolph.

  2. PDXJeremy says:

I don’t understand rich folk. Call a cab, rent a limo, hire a full time driver. Then you can drink all you want anytime. It’s not hard.

  3. Chris says:

What’s lost in all this poking fun about Zach Randolph is the fact that he’s an extremely dangerous person. Sexual assault (allegedly), DUI, repeated physical violence (Ruben Patterson Amundson) …

Thank God this fool does not live in my city anymore. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Zach end up the next Donte Stallworth.

  4. Chris says:

Also the fact that this moron has kids fills me with disgust. I hope someone is keeping them away from their father.

  5. Baby Huey says:

The similarities with Stallworth bares repeating. An athlete driving drunk hit and killed a pedestrian just 2 weeks ago. Good time to learn from someone else….not Z-BO, just go ahead and get behind the wheel, I’m sure everything will be just fine.

Seriously, get a designated driver, call a cab, call a friend, just don’t get behind the wheel and drive.

This is sad. Seriously. Sad. I remember not too long ago watching the Blazers play the Suns in Phoenix, and I had to do a double take to figure out who the new guy was that was on the Blazers. He was tearing up the Suns down low. Not a single play was run for him, but he was out-hustling the entire Suns team and he was making an impact.

That was when I first noticed Randolph. I loved what this guy could do on the court (the offensive end at least). He plain worked his butt off. But being buried behind the huge ego of Sheed, he didn’t get noticed. Once Sheed left, that all changed, and so did Zach.

It is sad to see what he has become. That hard-working, do-anything player became a spoiled, soft, WIFM player who I regret ever being associated with the Blazers.

I think people overreact to the whole “drunk driving” thing. As a general rule of thumb, if I can get into my car and start the engine without falling down or passing out, I’m okay to drive. I mean, considering that most of the 80 and 90 year old drivers on the road can’t even do that much, I think it should be legal.

As reckless as driving while intoxicated is, a threat just as serious, if not more so, often goes overlooked, and I feel it’s important to bring it up. Driving while old. If drunk driving is illegal, it should be too.

When I was a child, I once asked my grandfather what it was like to be old. His answer: “It’s like being drunk all the time. I don’t know what’s going on.”

Getting drunk is basically an old person simulator. You want to know what it’s like to be Dwight Jaynes + 10 years? Take a ten shots of vodka and go play Bingo.

I say we cut Randolph some slack.

  8. j says:

Not sure what player you were watching Kilntym but that is not the Z-Bo I remember at all.

I just wanted to point out how fitting it is that Zach got arrested for DUI on the same day the Blazers clinched a playoff spot. New Blazers > JailBlazers.

  10. James says:

Why? Why do these guys get behind the wheel drunk? You have money! Hire someone to drive you from club to club and sit there in between. Just insane. I don’t get it at all.

  11. Kirk says:

ZigTic, explain that to anyone who has had a family member or friend die due to someone getting behind the wheel after having too many drinks. While most of us will agree that older drivers should be constantly tested to verify their driving skills, making a choice to drink and get behind the wheel is a totally different conversation.

I hope you were being sarcastic.

  12. Bill McDonald says:

In case anyone is trying to say Zach was great during games but had problems off the court, I would like to remind you that Zach could be a complete dick during games too, as when he threw the cup of water on Nate Robinson last year.
Of course, while he was with Portland, he also punched teammate Ruben Patterson but it wasn’t enough to remain on the fans’ good side and Zach had to go.

Z-Bo for the Channing Frye pu-pu platter = best. trade. ever. Thank You Kevin P!

  14. Jack Bog says:

    Where was his gun?

  15. kilntym says:

j- Thanks for setting me straight. I must not be remembering the game I drove 2.5 hours to see in PHX. I must remember it wrong, especially the part where I turned to my buddy and said, “Wow, look at that guy. He is working his butt off out there.” I also must remember all of the rants from Blazer fans that Z-Bo should be an All-Star wrong. What would I do without you, Amigo?

ZigTic- My response above to j is sarcasm. If you were attempting to use it in your post, you failed miserably. What decade are you living in where you can post something like this? Drunk driving kills people. Many people. Go hang out in a PDX ER for a few hours, and I am sure you will see a victim of a drunk driver. Then go to that person’s family and let them in on your little revelation. That should go over well.

    Go Blazers!!

  16. Ryan says:

Zach’s just excited that his old MSU team is in the Natl. Championship game tonight…right? That’s how alumni celebrate isn’t it?

  17. Jack Bog says:

I’d love to read Zach’s exams and papers from his college days. If they really wanted to clean up college athletics, they should post every varsity roster player’s academic work on the internet.

  18. ZigTic says:

    kilntym:

Yes, kilntym, I am the first person in the history of the universe to come out in support of drunk driving. In no way was my convoluted, poorly constructed previous post a backhanded, long winded, cross-angled, off-topic attempt at calling Jaynes old. Nor am I a paid representative of the Randolph family sent to sponge up hate directed at him onto myself. That would be a hideous waste of everyone’s time.

Playing Devil’s Advocate is not always an easy job. Considering the material I had to work with, I’d say I did the best I could. Better than Dunleavy’s: “He was only driving a mile between houses.” comment, at any rate.

Police officer: “Ah, well, Mr. Dunleavy, that makes it alright, then.”

  19. Mike says:

I agree with ZigTic sober people manager to kill people every day too… It’s just a nanny state collecting a tax, nothing more. I think this really shows how little class the average Blazer fan has, all of your posts are “Other people’s misfortune is funny!!!1!1!” Who cares what they do off court? Who cares what FORMER blazers do?

  20. peregrinebrm says:

He should have had Darius drive for him.

  21. timbo says:

Five stars for ZigTic for making me laugh harder than the news story about Zbo’s latest adventure did…
