Subscribe Feed (RSS)Original Trail Blazer Jim Barnett is in his 24th season as the TV/radio analyst for Golden State games and one of the most outspoken commentators in the league. Plus, he’s a heck of a guy and a ton of fun to be around.
I asked him Wednesday night about Greg Oden.
“You better do your work against him early,” Barnett, a former first-round draft choice of the Boston Celtics, said. “You have to push him away from the basket right away. If you don’t, he’s set up so close to the basket he’s going to score every time. I had no idea he was this good.”
Barnett is still very fond of Portland.
“I’m so happy for the fans here,” he said. “They have a team to be proud of and a bunch of good guys to root for. They deserve it.”

I enjoy reading positive things from outside of oregon about the Blazers moreso than positive things written locally. I wonder why that is. Maybe because I feel like outside opinions are less subjective.
