What’s the score, Sarah Palin?

August 31st, 2008 by Dwight Jaynes | Filed under Media, Politics.

Deadspin has come up with the first video I’ve seen of the Republican vice presidential nominee (maybe)  stumbling through a sportscast in 1988. There are bonus Gary Grant-in-college highlights but what struck me the most is a reminder that nearly four minutes were devoted to sports during a newscast in 1988. Times have changed.

It was an Alaskan newscast, right? Maybe they just use the time normally allotted for weather to run extra sports.

After all, it shouldn’t take long to report, “it’s freaking cold.”

If and when she becomes VP I think all of her statements to the press should be read from behind an anchor desk. “Big news from Iran, tonight, that’s right, they are being bombed. All that and more, after this short commercial break.”
