Welcome to the latest episode of “Where’s Darius?”

According to the Los Angeles Times, he’s working out for the Clippers, among other teams. The story says:

We have an extra roster spot,” Clippers Coach and General Manager Mike Dunleavy said Wednesday. “He is starting to work out for teams. And so, we’re just looking into the situation.”
Based on what they have seen and what they need, the woefully lacking-in-depth Clippers would jump at signing the 6-foot-9 free agent Miles, who was close to making the Celtics in training camp. The thought is that Boston wanted to keep Miles, 27, but a roster spot simply wasn’t available.

Later, the story said:

The Trail Blazers have to be squirming a bit with Miles working out for teams again. It has been reported that Miles’ $9-million salary for this season goes back on Portland’s books if he signs a deal and plays in 10 or more NBA games.

I have been watching, and have seen no signs of “squirming” anywhere in the Rose Garden.

Maybe Dunleavy takes him back to spite the Blazers. It will take a team/franchise that is either as dysfunctional or decimated with injuries like the Clippers to take Dr. Darius aboard. What a waste.

Good Lord, Darius and Zach reunited. Clear the police blotter.

They have some awesome strip bars in LA. It’ll be like the old days for Darius and Zach.

Seriously though, when the Clippers pass on Darius, even with an open roster spot and a desperate need for depth, then can we forget about this? If Darius could still play, he’d be playing already.

Don’t forget Ricky Davis, who’s already there. What a roster… Add in Marcus Camby, who was implicated in some drug stuff from his UMass days as well.

  5. Zander says:

The acquire Randolph, now Miles. Then they’ve also got guys like Ricky Davis and Camby. Plus they already had Dunleavy. They’re trying to become the Jail Blazers!

But yeah, no way do the Clippers actually pick him up. He’s suspended for his first 10 games for failing that drug test. And it seems the main thing they’re looking for right now is a replacement for the injured Ricky Davis. Who is set to return about the same time Darius finishes his suspension.

actually, the strip bars in LA are pretty lame. ask anyone, P-town is renowned for its adult entertainment venues. no drinking and nudity in Cali. that said, good lord… z-bo, darius, ricky davis… did al davis and donald sterling switch places? why haven’t they traded for marbury yet?
