The Oregon Sports Awards were epic this year

The best show yet, and with the likes of Paul Allen, Nate McMillan, Brandon Roy, Chip Kelly, Mike Riley, the state’s next governor Chris Dudley and Ndamukong Suh all in the house it was certainly the place to be Sunday night.

If you missed it, set an appointment to watch the show on Tuesday night at 8 o’clock on Comcast Sportsnet. The folks of who put this show together, Sports One, Nike and the Portland Tribune, are to be congratulated.

Chris Dudley’s chances of being elected governor are a little higher than my potted cactus in my living room but probably below my neighbor’s pet chicken. Kitz is going to wipe the floor clean with him. Oregon’s GOP is so dysfunctional its not even funny. If you want to know the next governor after him I’ll tell you who its going to be. John Kroger. I’d put money on it.

  2. JD says:

That’s up to Chris Dudley. Although the liberal monkeys from Multnomah and Lane counties will be itching to stick another thorn through the GOP and conservative policy. So you’re prob right. Do you think there is much thought that goes into their vote?

    • ean says:

      Don’t forget about Benton Co.

    • Bumpity says:

The lack of thought by Multnomah Co. voting sheeple was proven by their 66/67 vote…

      • JoJoLeen says:

And when you say “liberal monkeys” I think you mean normal, smart, intelligent people with good heads on there shoulders who don’t hate gays and blacks and Mexicans like yourself. JD, you’re an embarrassment to this country and I can only hope that something really bad happens to and your family!

Dwight used the word “epic” in proper hipster context. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. ;-)

  4. Tree says:

Golly gee – have we all lost our sense of humour? (I suppose someone will now pick on me for spelling humour with a “u”).

Strong work on using “epic” Dwight. Maybe hanging with the boys is a good thing.

  5. JD says:

BTW. Politics aside and the entry itself. That is good to know. I will be sure to record it.

  6. md says:

It has nothing to do with being a liberal. I can not imaging saying i wish harm to someone on a sports blog discussing politics. That’s just plane crazy. Shame , shame , shame!

I watched a video of Allen Alley and he has some ways of thinking outside the box to deal with the State of Oregon’s money issues. He is a smart guy.

On a side note I went on Real Gm and plugged in a trade of LaMarcus for Amare and the trade was accepted because both teams are under the cap. Pritchard has a lot of flexibility in making trades since we are under the cap. He just needs to find other teams under the cap with players we can use.

Glad to see Paul’sback on his feet.

Talkin’ Ball comment… Someone asked where Nic Batum’s #88 came from… Answer: Born: Dec 14, 1988

  11. Greg says:

I still can’t believe 67 was approved. Taxing companies that are unprofitable and/or run on thin margins is not smart.

I understand the sentiment to approve 66, but it just solidifies the fact any one who earns significant investment income would be stupid to live in this state, and 66 will spur a few more of them to join the PERS retirees in Camas.

One other thing – Nicolas Batum will be able run for governor soon at the rate he’s going. Plus he’s French, so he’ll win big in Multnomah County. :-J

I picked up a copy of the Tribune today. Nice coverage of the event. Did you see the Big O coverage? about 2″, and hardly said anything. Maybe they covered it the next day, but I did not see it.

Suppose Big O is miffed that Tribune helped sponsor it?
