Oh, to have vintage Maurice Lucas for just one game. . .
Kevin Garnett has been selling wolf tickets now for several seasons. He stalks around basketball courts all over the country, acting as if he’s an unchained tiger ready to bite someone’s arm off. He never stops talking, trying to intimidate everyone in his path — officials, players and even, in some cases, his own teammates.
Man, I’m sick of watching it. In the old NBA I grew up with, someone would have put a stop to it a long time ago. I don’t think the guy is anywhere close to being as tough as he thinks he is. But in the league the way it is these days, who would know? You can’t really do anything to call his bluff. I mean, you can’t breath on anybody without getting suspended.
In the old days, Maurice Lucas is fond of saying, you could punch a guy in the face and get fined $50. Man, in the case of Garnett, who among us wouldn’t chip in?
And while Lucas continues to recover from a nasty illness that’s kept him off the Blazer bench this season, I’m fondly summoning up a picture of Luke, in his prime, on the floor giving the stink-eye to Garnett. Man, the first time Garnett got out of line, he’d see a beast coming at him. I’ve seen this thing, folks, and it was a frightening sight to behold.
Garnett, trust me, would want no part of Maurice Lucas. He would be a very quiet, well-behaved young man on the nights when he played against the Portland Trail Blazers.

KG is the biggest fake in the league. Antonio McDyess tried to fight him, and KG ran like the coward that he is. You think he would even consider stepping to Mo Luc? Not a chance.
I trust Przybilla gets a chance to match up against KG for a few possessions. Joel doesn’t take kindly to intimidation, he’s the closest thing to Luke we have. Greg Oden, I gather, will pay rapt attention.
On another note, his tendancy to spray hand chalk all over the scorers table (now LeBron does it) is annoying.
Yeah, what’s up with the chalk thing? Lebron does it and makes this big show like he’s a god or something and all he’s doing is throwing chalk in the air. I don’t get it. KG makes me sick. I’m honestly starting to wonder if he’s not starting to go off the deep end a little. And when he “spontaneously” yelled a line from a commercial he was in during his interview right after they won the finals… how much do you think he got paid for that?
Jordan started the hand-chalk thing, he used to pat his hands and make a talcum powder cloud in Johnny “Red” Kerr’s face (Bull’s announcer) LBJ and motormouth are just trying to “be like Mike”
About all GregZilla can do about motormouth’s chatter is execute nasty (but legal) back screens and slip/pick/dunk on his face
Oh yes, and point at the scoreboard at the end of the game
God bless Lucas and his health. We’ll miss him on our bench tonight more then ever. I want him back more then I want Webster.
I remember when Lucas Knocked Artis Gilmore out cold. I knew Luc was tough but Gilmore was 7’3′ and mammoth. I soon learned that Luc feared nobody…
NBA finals…Dawkins and Lucas square off and I look over and see a HUGE smile on my father’s face (Luc and Lloyd Neal) were his favs)
Luc protected his teamates. He was the ultimate power forward
As for Garnett spouting his commercial line last year, it should be noted he screwed it up too. What a db.
BTW, The Prizzle did put an elbow into Garnett last year in Portland after KG was wolfing and Joel got a technical for it. I was so peeved. KG is untouchable and the NBA is fully supporting his act during games. Someone just have to donate some money to the NBA charities and knock his block off. Take one for the team.
And the chalk thing done by MJ was never done like Lebron or KG these days. He did it to annoy the Bulls announcers who I think were chummy with MJ. Sort of a kid-at-play sort of deal. What Lebron and KG do is so freaking stupid.
Yeah the league sure supports his BS… They suspended him one game for a reactionary arm swing after being cheap shot smacked by Bogut. It was such a pathetic league move and was obv. in response to his overall intensity/trash-talking in other situations, not that game. KG is really enjoying being a champion and I love how the Celts have strapped it on this year in title defense. The greatest players talked the greatest trash going back to the NBA Dwight Jaynes misses. Get over it.
Mo?? what a guy. What a key he was to the Blazers. Am very glad he is still in Portland, with Blazers and getting better.
Then Buck Williams too
AHAHAH look at you pathetic portland trail blazer fans!! ahaha hows your most recent championship doing. you wish you had KG, maybe you might win. you guys couldnt even wash the Lakers towels. Get used to it, you guys are going no where. ahahha what a game tonight too!!! greg oden!!! what a bust. have fun staring at your lake buddy. bunch of whiners you guys are. Adidas slogan is- Impossible is nothing. Garnett- anything is possible. you guys are idiots. get some real emotions. and a good team too!!!!! BOSTON- BEST SPORTS CITY IN THE UNIVERSE
Like Tim Thomas called Kenyon Martin, KG is so fugazy. Mo would not tolerate all of KG’s stupid mugging and screaming and would knock him out. Someone needs to throw chalk in his face (maybe Lebronz too) to show him how idiotic he makes himself look. Boston’s big three were all losers before Kevin McFail’s charity trade to Ainge and even with a ring they are all still losers. btw, McFly, Boston is actually the most pathetic sports city in the universe what with bandwagon fans chanting MVP for Kobe the year before last because the few Celtic fans there had nothing else to root for. Go back to your own bandwagon forums and talk about how you can be a humble person like Garnett.
it’s funny how no one was talking about Garnett before he won a title…but nows hes got a ring so everyone comes out the woodwork….and for pryzbilla, the guy is a stiff, even mentioning him in the same sentence as KG is a disgrace
Poor Johnny probably wasn’t talking about KG before he won a title either – infact, I doubt he even knew the Celtics still played until they were somewhat relevant again and he decided to get a place on the bandwagon.
I can understand wanting to knock the bully off his street corner…but at least KG brings passion to a league which desperately needs it…especially since he brings it on the defensive end and isn’t just a primadonna scorer.
As far as Boston having bandwagon fans…Portland was LAST in the league in attendance in 05-06 and Boston sold a higher percentage of seats than Portland in 06-07, while having its losingest season ever. In 07-08, not surprisingly Boston sold 100% of its tickets. What…you brought it up. And honestly i don’t even care, I think it’s perfectly reasonable that when your team sucks…you go less. When somebody is putting out a shitty product you buy it less. So what? But to insinuate that Boston isn’t a sports town or has no history as a sports town is one of the most ignorant things you can say…and the Celtics are at the center of it.
But I guess the point is…you’re sick of Boston and it’s fans winning…which I get because Boston fans can be as obnoxious as ANY and right now Boston in general is the bully on the block…that’s fine but until you knock us off…deal with it.
ush is exactly right and you little weiners cant say anything against it, AHAHAHAHAHA
Wow,aren’t some of our visitor’s impressive ?
You phoney Boston fans know darn well you would have traded your
grandma to get Oden..
Don’t get too high and mighty,Portland is only getting better
before our eyes and your team is darn good but believe me,Portland
will figure you out.
I highly doubt you will beat Portland in Portland.
I am going to that game and will be squawking my head off at
Garnett.
