Oden did look better in the Sacramento game. I would like to see him become more of an intimidator inside. Kevin Martin was penetrating way too much, in my opinion. With some experience, I'm sure Greg will become that.
I liked seeing him get angry. That's the first time I've seen him mad, during that play where he grabbed the offensive rebound and is blanketed by Kings players. He tossed one player out to the free throw line. Reminds me of the Incredible Hulk.

You wouldn't like Greg Oden when he's angry..

I just cannot get enough of watching Brandon Roy. You hit the nail on the head regarding a surveyor. It's like having Magic Johnson...someone who simply makes everyone else on the team better.

Your comments about Travis seem on the mark. He plays an isolation game that ends up with him taking a jumper... While Travis can get space for his shot against anyone, does this team really need a small forward whose game ends up with him in isolation, taking a jumper? Especially given the fact that there's a new sheriff in town as first man off the bench -- who has a better outside shot, who passes MUCH better, and who cuts to the rim to score or rebound, as needed?

The other odd man out seems to me to be Channing Frye, given than LMA is going to play max minutes and be the team's big scorer, midrange in. Not sure than a 6'11" jumpshooter like Frye is what the doctor ordered, but I reckon there's a chance that he'll be able to adapt his game. Still, I have a hunch that when a deal is made for a 3, he'll be the other guy dealt.

Rudy has single-handedly saved Sergio's NBA career, as nearly as I can tell. The two of them have terrific chemistry. Agreed that Sergio's trade value should rise from "penny stock" to rather valuable status over the course of the year. The guy can pass, if he's smart enough not to try to shoot...

very insightful! I think Batum if does well in the first two months while martell is out then travis will be gone this year. The scoring is there now in the second unit with fernandez, channing, and sergio. Bring in a veteran piece like a battier if you can for outlaw.

Thanks for your thoughts on the game. I like Batum's way of staying within himself when his shot's not falling. He is a perfect compliment to LA. Rudy is hands down the most fun to watch and Roy rarely makes a mistake. I agree that this is probably Outlaw's last season here in Portland. He's so talented but his b-ball IQ isn't there yet. TO's not the best fit for Portland at this stage. LA no doubt will have the most fun possible given his role this year. Greg will have great numbers as his pt increases. I still think that Rudy is the best player on the team when you consider that he is brand new to the NBA. Thanks again for your thoughts.
