If Lebron James dances tonight …
Yeah, the Cleveland Cavaliers are heavy favorites tonight against the Portland Trail Blazers. That’s the way it is. But I hope if I see Lebron James into that stupid dancing stuff on the sidelines during this one, a Portland player will get in his grill and let him know he ought to save it for Broadway next season. Good for Noah for calling him on it.
Take a look about 2:05 into this video and see Lebron cutting a rug on the baseline DURING the game. Man, for the old days when somebody would pop a guy for goofing on them like this. Real pros don’t show people up. They don’t embarrass a vanquished foe.
Can you imagine Jordan, Bird or Magic doing something like this?
We’ve got Frank Brickowski, a former NBA enforcer on “Talkin’ Ball” the next two nights and I can’t wait to see what he says about this stuff.

Jordan, Bird, and Magic all embarassed foes and showed people up ALL THE TIME. What are you talking about?
Find one clip of Jordan, Bird, and Magic dancing on the sideline while up 20 points in a meaningless regular season game.
If they showed up the opponent, it was done by outscoring or maybe even out showboating…but never like this.
Never said danced. Said “embarassed foes and showed people up” — which you, yourself, admitted is true.
And after reading Magic/Bird’s latest book … what they did was worse than goofing around on the sidelines of a blowout.
Yah well Josh Bird, Magic, and Jordan have multiple rings to back them up. They showed time and time again they could lead there team all the way.
The only thing Lebron has won is a sprite commercial. What has he really shown?
Yah he is a good player, but he is yet to be a leader and a champion. For him to act this way let alone without a ring is egotistical showboating…I hope someone does knock him to his knees
Not buy dancing…by talking junk in there face certainly not dancing like Travolta.
Couldn’t agree more. Think Maurice Lucas would put up with that BS? Lebron is a great player and probably my favorite player to watch…but save the dancing for the locker room…or how about this idea…wait till you actually win something first.
What’s with the pink leg warmers on their arms????
At some point, an entire team needs to dance on Cleveland’s sideline as they are beating Cleveland.
Lebron has stated he’d like to play in the NFL, he even has a commercial about it. Wouldn’t you just LOVE to see what happens to tight end King James on the next snap after he tries to show up Ray Lewis or Brian Urlacher with his boogie woogie act during a game? He’d have a very short NFL career.
I love the Brick man! See ya on Talkin’ Ball!
No matter how far away we get from Vaudeville, we just can’t get far enough away. Modern America is built on stupid dancing and singing routines- it is one of our defining features.
LeBron is just continuing our love for dancing dumb asses.
Look at some old vids of Bird vs Laimbeer or Mchale vs Rambis – back when players in the NBA didn’t wear skirts and were allowed to play. It was almost too violent at times. It is a shame the NBA has gone to such lengths to protect their stars; I understand it to a certain point, but Lebron deserves to get popped for that episode.
Funny that Rambis and McHale are with the same organization now. That clothesline was epic!
McHale is most definitely not with the same organization as Rambis.
oops, got my dates mixed up
I’m afraid the Blazers don’t have anyone on their roster who will stand up to Lebron James.
Your right on the money Barry. I like Noah’s bravery but he didn’t get off of his seat on the bench now did he. Lebron is a big bad dude.
I seem to recall Lebron manhandling us a couple of years back in Cleveland and nobody would get in his way.
We are soft. Which one of our frail players would stand up to Lebron. Blake? Please.
Maybe Bayless.
Arvydas, I agree that LeBron regularly pushes the Blazers around because no one stands up to him (aside from Przybilla maybe).
But I definitely wouldn’t call him a hardass. I’ve watched how the guy acts when he’s playing against badasses like Denver or Boston and I guarentee he wouldn’t walk over to the bench if it was Kenyon Martin talking crap to him.
And remember that fan that walked onto the court in NYC last season to try to greet James? Holy crap, Lebron looked like a scared little girl and tried to hide behind his teammates!!
You said it, although Joel might call him out….same with Juwan. Few players in the league are of the “old school” mentality Dwight talks about here-but Juwan is.
Martell would ask him for his shoes after it happened-that much I DO know.
We don’t know that. They haven’t been in the middle of being beat by 30 while a super start is dancing on the sideline…during the game. No player/team takes kindly to it, but to assume that nobody would do anything is unfounded.
Noah has no room to call out other players about their on the court antics. I’ve wanted to see both him and LBJ get popped for a long time.
Let it go old man…The kid is just having a little fun out there. Big deal. The Blazers are focusing much more on preventing open jumpers than Lebron’s dancing.
Also, Noah of all people? The guy who danced throughout college and constantly taunted players? He has no room to talk.
How about PryzKilla knocking Lebron to the floor tonight? That would be SWEET!
It’s not performance art and it’s not dancing, per se. It’s in the nature of taunting, like NFL end zone celebrations were in the nature of taunting. The NFL rightly banished it. The NBA should do the same. It has nothing to do with the game and it’s not healthy.
Agree. The Cavalier’s look like douchebag A-holes when they start dancing. And LeBron is the biggest douchebag of the bunch.
LeBron and Kevin Garnett are the 2 nba players I can’t stand. Douchebags!!!!!
Ummm….goaltending?
Nope, no goal tend. Hubie the magnificent said so. He said it was clearly on the way up. Clearly? you blind old mouse? Look again and take your hand off of Lebron’s sack when you answer. ESPN in their recap didn’t even question whether it was a goal tend. Roy to his credit let it slide. Didn’t whine about it in his post game comments. Even tho it was clearly a goal tend. It is a stars league. It is Lebron’s and Kobe’s league. Roy is only an after thought. He knows that now.
Missing Person’s Alert in Cleveland tonight: 6′ white male, blonde hair, goes by Steve or Blake.
Blake does not score one single point. Yet he plays 36min? Ya know I thought it was just Nate; but this whole coaching staff is dumb as a box of rocks. Bayless played 8min. 8 friggin min? What is Blake in there for if he is not scoring? His defense? what a laugh …to block out and rebound? Did ya see him jump out of the way so Varejao could get a rebound and put back. To play man on man D against Lebron with the game on the line? For crying out loud what in the world is Blake doing man on man against Lebron, EVER, let alone with the game on the line! Yea he got 8 assists. So what. This coaching staff top to bottom. Dumb as a box of rocks.
Blake is the new definition of bad.
That was a goal tend.
Hey I watched “Talking Ball” for first time last nite. Enjoyed it. My wife was at a play, so I had the main TV for myself. We have 2 TVs upstairs with cable, so I can watch up there and now I may.
The lineup in the 2nd quarter: Howard, Blake, Bayless, Miller, and Joel- ran and got some points in the paint. What a refreshing 12 minutes that was.
And now back to the Mini-Zach Randolph Show with “The Natural” playing the part of Mini-Zach. Ooops! Must be technical difficulties- Mini-Zach is dribbling…..dribbling…..dribbling…..he’s still dribbling……AND…..he loses the ball! And now a word from our sponsor.
