Man, two preseason games and three regular-season games against these guys in the span of about two and a half months. I’m sick of them. By the way, somebody in the Rose Quarter ought to get a big raise for deciding to make the Terry Porter jersey retirement happen tonight. It’s taken the attention away from the opponent.
The Kings will once again be without Kevin Martin, apparently, as he didn’t play last night and his left ankle injury has been a real slow healer. New coach Kenny Natt let them run up and down the floor against the Timberwolves last night and playing freely under a new coach the Kings won going away. That happens with new coaches — players sense playing time is up for grabs and usually play harder for a while.
Still, this one is just what the doctor ordered for the Trail Blazers, who are looking to put an end to a three-game losing streak. Defend Sacramento, control the tempo and rebound the ball and the rest is easy, Portland.
