Governor Chris Dudley?

Did you catch this, Blazer fans? Chris Dudley is pondering a run at the Republican nomination for governor:

Dudley acknowledged in a brief interview Sunday that he has been approached about running and is giving the idea consideration.

“It’s possible,” he said after appearing at Wordstock, the Portland book fair. “I’d just like to leave it at that for now.”

Hey, he’s a heck of a guy and he graduated from Yale. But who wants to tell him that running for just about ANY office in Oregon as a Republican is getting to be something of a waste of time?

God forbid we try something else besides a democrat.

so true Dwight. Although the only thing Oregonians like more than sleazy democrat politicians is former Trailblazers so he might have a chance.

He would have my vote. A rock could run this state better than the past few governors. See: 2nd highest unemployment in the nation

I guess if Sarah Palin could be a governor then Chris could possibly be one too. Should start at the beginning though, like a state representative to get his feet wet in the state legislature. They play rougher on that court than on a basketball court. Running as a Republican may be a disadvantage though. Try being an Independant.

    PUKE!

    This was funny…

“Running as a Republican may be a disadvantage though”

That would be what is known as understatement of the day.

It’s been a long, long time since the Republicans have nominated anyone worthy of serious consideration. It should be noted that the most productive time in shaping quality of life in Oregon in the last 50 years occurred with a progressive Republican as governor. For those of you who keep whining about economic conditions in Oregon I suggest you spend time as a Washington resident. The economy is nearly as bad without the quality of life. Oregonians have a quality of life Washingtonians can only dream about. People in Oregon complain about state government. People in Washington have given up.

I wonder what Charles Barkley thinks about this.

Yeah- I’m gettin’ nostalgic for the good old days when George W. was runnin’ the entire country off the cliff, a’whoopin’ and a’hollerin’ about democracy. A Republican governor might help us finish the job- put us outta our misery. That’s the ticket!

    Dwight,

Thanks for bringing this up, but after reading the replies on this thread I shake my head at the comments. I am a conservative, but don’t believe Obama is a “socialist”. I also don’t have a shrine of Rush Limbaugh in my house. The ignorant comments regarding W running our country off a cliff or jabs a Sara Palin just shows how backwards and divided our country is. If you take a step back and stop pointing fingers to the “Right” or “Left” you will realize why our economy is hurting. Two major events and one common theme created this mess over the past decade. The sub prime mortgage crisis (Fanny & Freddie) & the big 3 in Detroit not making anything but big trucks & SUV’s. The common theme is GREED. Neither of these had anything to do with being on the “Left” or “Right”. The question we should all be asking ourselves is: does Chris Dudley have the character and abilities to lead this state. Chris Dudley has always been a classy well spoken professional. He graduated from an Ivy school “Yale”, but was not above being a blue collar worker. I would love to see what he has to offer this state.

I think we would be better off turning the Capitol building into a B & B and just send them all home so they couldn’t do anything else to us
