But I play on a 38-and-over baseball team and we pulled out of a losing streak Wednesday night with a 7-6 win, scoring twice in our last at bat. What’s noteworthy about our team is that we have a great group of guys and if anyone ever wants to do an in-depth book or story about the Portland Codgers, I won’t have to write it.
That’s because Rob Neyer and Jason Quick also play for the Codgers. I won’t be revealing any batting averages here, because I’m in no position to talk about such things — but suffice it to say all three of us are better writers than hitters. Can you imagine what a lousy hitter I must be?
