All you need to know about Blazer media day, in two paragraphs

Brandon Roy has already been playing 5-on-5 pickup games with his teammates. His recovery from knee surgery has been rapid. He’s ready, he says, for training camp. As always, Roy gets it. He made it clear he’s excited about the season to come, wants to jump right in and play in exhibition games, get used to his new teammates andĀ prepareĀ for the season. “I don’t want to be using the regular season to get ready,” he said. “I want to get ready during the exhibition games.”

Greg Oden unintentionally did a little bit of a Shaquille O’Neal impersonation. That means he’s suddenly kind of quiet, a little mumbly and not as expressive as last year. He admitted to nervousness about the start of training camp Tuesday. Even though he’s been here for a year, he’s still a rookie — and I can’t think of any other rookie under as much pressure to perform.
